Training

Tax update sessions and technical support that keep your firm current, delivered by a CPA with national-level tax policy experience.

Who it’s for

Public accounting firms and their partners and staff, particularly small and mid-sized firms that want current, practical tax knowledge without a full-time tax specialist on staff.

What’s included

Annual tax update

A session covering the year’s federal and Ontario tax changes, including budgets, new legislation and CRA administrative developments, focused on what matters for your firm’s clients.

Ongoing technical support

Access through the year for technical tax questions that come up in your files, so your team can get an informed second opinion.

Tailored to your firm

Content shaped around your client base, whether owner-managed businesses, holding companies, personal tax or estates.

Why Ryan

Ryan Minor is Director of Tax at CPA Canada, a member of the Joint Committee on Taxation of CPA Canada and the Canadian Bar Association, and holds a PhD in Law and an LLM in Tax Law. He also runs his own public practice, so the training connects tax policy developments to the files your team works on every day.

How it works

  1. Initial conversation. We discuss your firm, your clients and the topics your team needs most.
  2. A plan that fits. We agree on the session format, timing and the level of ongoing support.
  3. Delivery. Sessions are delivered to your team, with support available through the year.

Common questions

Are sessions in person or virtual?

Both can be arranged, depending on your firm’s location and preference.

Can the content be tailored to our clients?

Yes. The update focuses on the changes that matter most to the kinds of clients your firm serves.

How does ongoing support work?

Your team can reach out with technical tax questions through the year. We’ll agree on the scope of support when we set up the arrangement.
